Today’s Question:
QotD: Why doesn’t the government intervene to deal with Legendary pokemon and enemies (This was sorta a suggested question)

Helpful Considerations: They have tech like guns, pretty sure that’d stop a rampaging legendary? Wouldnt a government want stability among the citizens? Puppet government run by a Bidoof?

I guess the closest we have so far is Hisui and the Galaxy exploration team basically being the local govt and tried to deal with the legendaries.

I’m assuming there’s some form of govt, given how the games take place in “modern” settings and we’ve seen police and Lt. Surge. So there should be a military ideally. Considering how in multiple games, we see the Champion involved in the legendary plot line, or in the evil team plot line, I wonder if the League is a part of the govt and they’re designated to deal with massive Pokemon related issues. Given how legendaries probably have the power to stop any conventional military weapons, might as well leave the trainers with the strongest pokemon to deal with those problems.

No such thing. Martial law and Giovanni, that’s all they have.

If I was given an opportunity to be a Pokémon villain I would send out a bunch of kids in different regions to take down regional villains and capture the legendaries. Then I will weaponize all the powerful Pokémon and take over the world.

One of the gods shows up one day and begins cleaning everyone’s clock.

Government:

Most, if not all, modern governments do not truly care about the health, safety, and well being of their citizens. The Pokemon world reflects the real world more than we think! … or maybe due to it being a children’s franchise about making animals fight and selling the associated products they juat never cared to go into that. I like the first one better though.

This is a completely ignorant comment.

There is an enormous amount of work being done in the background by local government, state government, and the federal government that allows you and your family to live a mostly healthy and productive life. Most governments care deeply about their citizens.

Politics, laws, and regulations make it difficult to get things done because people disagree on the best path forward and the amount of money necessary to achieve goals. People also disagree on what should be handled at a local/state level or at a federal level in the U.S.

Let me inform you of some of the amenities that you might take for granted.
