I know im terrible about having bulk on my dresser.
I need to get one of those tiered bulk card holder things? Friend of mine got one and it was fantastic for bulk i even made some labels for her for the divider tabs.
Right not everything is in ETB and its awful keeping track of where everything is at.
And as soon as i sit down to sort, the cats descend like demonic furry vultures. I was thankfully just able to mail out 100 some bulk of CZ to help someone with a masterset, so that was relief to see that chunk gone.
I need a designated tray area like that, great suggestion. I have gotten lucky at costco, DG, and Meijer a couple times and been able to open some product for MSRP, but yah my bulk issue has dropped major since paying double is whats expected now.
Thanks for sharing your method to control the maddness.
Iāve got about 6k in bulk cards, and I finally got a storage system set up for them and itās so nice. Very few cards sitting around (and the ones sitting around are usually there for a reason), and itās pretty tightly packed, so itās not taking up a lot of space
On another note, my answer to the question is: def selling; I donāt think itās necessarily unavoidable, but it comes up a lot. Itās near impossible to sell stuff for above 80% market, since selling sites like eBay take a cut, and card stores/vendors take a bigger cut; however selling on like facebook marketplace is generally considered suspicious, and itās only local sellers/buyers, so itāll take longer to sell. Iām working on a Scizor masterset, and Iām trying to liquidate most of my collection for that and competitive singles, but I donāt have a good option to sell stuff.
Sorting one thousand slabs. There is some tetris complexity in devoting the compartments by era/sets. Realizing ultra pro sleeves sucks and having to replace one thousand of themā¦
Organizing the cards into ones you want/bulk, then getting your pokemon tote from the top of the closet, realizing you donāt have anymore space to put another empty ETB box, but then also realizing you need the box because you donāt have any more space to put your bulk, then looking at all the cards you have in there and reminiscing for a good while. Then when you come to you realize again that you still havenāt found what to do with that empty ETB boxā¦but you donāt want to just throw it away because you might need it later.
Then you spend more time cleaning up and organizing than you did opening up the packs.
The most tedious part of the hobby is scrolling through thousands of eBay listings that have nothing to do with what I am looking for because of keyword spam.
For me itās trying to figure out what the hell condition a card is in before buying. I mainly just use eBay to see the pictures and TCGPlayer for only under $10, but man. Light Play aināt Light Playing like it used to. The past couple years the āqualificationsā for each quality has been changing too much and too open.
seeing a ton of whitening and damage when u look closer at one of ur favorite cards. also getting jealous over seeing other collectors collections (that can be hard to fight)
