If it makes you feel better, they’ll exist as well in Simplified Chinese (also 100 units per card) … Generally cards are cheaper in S-Chinese than in Japanese.

Awesome. That might help indeed (if they pop up on eBay and alike). Although limited to 100 copies, and being pullable from packs (so some might never be accounted for if people keep sealed items), is still a bit annoying, ngl.

Anyway, let’s get back to the topic. Sorry for derailing it a bit.

Indeed. If the Pokémon is depicted in the artwork, but it’s not the Pokémon itself. The two examples posted by @Kijamon above are for example Raichu cameos. We also have this useful thread to search for all cameos on English cards (using Ctrl+F with the Pokémon name). Unfortunately, we don’t have a similar thread for Japanese exclusive artworks (yet).

I wasn’t aware of that thread - thanks for sharing! After that looking at that thread, I am also hereby amending my current cameo collecting to only when the Pokemon is physically present in the main artbox so drawings, abstract representations, and screens no longer count for me .

I collect Chansey cameos and all the cool Chansey errors I can find (usually 1 of each). Sometimes I’ll pass on an error if I don’t love the art. My limit is: only Japanese & English (excluding unique stamps/holo), no non-TCG. I have some merch, stickers, sleeves etc on the side but I’m worried if I branch out of the TCG my house will be overrun with Chansey.

I don’t care about foreign languages unless it’s a Japanese (or in a rare case) Chinese exclusive. That’d being said, if I happen to see a foreign language copy I don’t have for a reasonable price, I’ll pick it up. Grabbed a German Dark Vileplume the other week for $1 for my Vileplume collection.

This might be a bit more controversial but I also do not care about the world championship cards. Growing up, they always had a huge negative stigma on the playground, and I guess that sentiment stuck with my to this day.
