When modern was more affordable, I used to open 2-3 boxes for each set or around 5-7 ETBs if it didn’t come in boxes. Crazy thinking that this could easily cost $600-$1,000+ these days. Needless to say, I don’t do this anymore lol.

I gave in one night and decided to open everything I had. It was probably about 5-6 Shining Fates ETBs, 3 Battle Styles booster boxes, 6 ETBs, 4 Shiny Star V boxes, 3 Pikachu sidekick collection boxes, 2 Ho oh and 2 lugia legendary boxes and a couple other random things. These were the highlights.

2 booster boxes of something. Vintage of course.

There were 50 Unseen Forces blisters once. What’s that, one detached home?

I think when I was 7, I opened two base set booster packs in one day. That was the peak.

As an adult, I opened a sealed Southern Island binder and then one Neo booster pack from that binder. There were three attached and I still have the other two sealed.

Two (Japanese) booster boxes on the same day, of Shiny Star V.

That reminds me, I still have seven sealed Shiny Star V, four Shiny Treasure ex, an Eevee Heroes booster box, and two Korean Fairy Rising booster boxes lying around.

As a kid, the most I opened in one session was likely three or four booster packs, during the Sint Nicholas fest (or technically six/eight, since three/four were opened by my little brother, and we then choose a card one by one after equally dividing the duplicates).

I think three packs is the most I’ve ever opened in one day, I keep it to a minimum as an adult to maintain the experience feeling special and preserve that childhood magic.

Fossil booster box or 1st edition rocket booster box (both 36 packs)

30ish team rocket packs, got myself the dark raichu and dark blastoise, which are two of my favorites from the set!

As a kid, just one pack at a time for birthdays/special occasions

I opened a case of vmax climax (20 boxes) for an e4 break when it released. It was a lot of fun but my voice was so exhausted and dry by the end, I don’t know how streamers do it!

Probably around 100 of the little dollar tree xy evolutions packs, it was so much fun

18 booster boxes of evolutions

Like 1500 sleeved packs of astral when people dumped them for less than 2$ each

I know what you mean. When a box costs 250+, pulling nothing hurts. That is actually something I do really miss. Just unpacking because it´s fun.

What did you pull.

200 packs of vivid voltage - last set that was pretty cheap to get in bulk and it was excited that it was all about Pikachu. Still didn’t pull the Rainbow lol. My wife and I had fun though

Now I average about 75 packs when a new set releases.. costly but every new set is a fun time opening packs with my wife and starting a new binder

One time I opened a box of MTG that I won, not that I bought. I don’t really like buying/opening sealed packs

The last booster box I opened was Ultra Prism in 2019, which I received as a Valentine’s gift. :pikalove:

That was back when booster boxes were around £80 though. Sadly, they’re just too expensive now.

I don’t open packs myself anymore, although I sometimes let my youngest open a few that I have in storage for her collection.

Three back-to-back booster boxes was my biggest opening in one sitting back in 2012: an ex legend maker (which was about £75 at the time!), ex sandstorm and a 1st edition fossil. Those specific boxes weren’t chosen for any particular reason other than needing the cards for binder collections, and they just happened to be amongst the cheapest WOTC/Nintendo era sets available at that moment. iirc the fossil was the most expensive at around £120. Unfortunately it was when I was a poor uni student and financial guilt got the better of me within the year or two that followed, and I ended up selling most of what I pulled on eBay :see_no_evil_monkey: if I’d found out about UPCCC / e4 at the time, maybe I would have stuck around. Ah well c’est la vie.

By number of packs it was when I opened a whole Indonesian Tag Team Collection Set A booster box, so 30 packs. Since those are 5 card packs though, if we go by number of total cards pulled, my biggest opening session was when I opened 18 Lost Origin packs at once, an ETB I bought and 10 that I won in a TPCi giveaway.
