I’d like to highlight the Ex Ruby & Sapphire evolutionary line. Arita’s use of lighting and shadow bring these creatures to life. Aron curiously staring up toward the cavern’s blueish white light. Lairon peering over its shoulder toward the cave’s illuminated entrance with an ominous blue light in the background. And Aggron standing confidently just outside the cave, face lit from the sun’s rays streaming through the canopy above. Arita is a story teller, with every stroke he provides tone and depth to his illustrations.
Mitsuhiro Arita nails it time and time again. He really shows his class here.
