PSA VAT Number?

Good afternoon everyone!

I’ve been collecting and reading the forum for quite some time, but this problem is giving me quite a few headaches, so I decided to finally create an account and ask about it.

After a year and a half of saving money and cards in order to send them to be graded with PSA, a couple of months ago I decided it was time to send them in different batches. At the end of February I paid my subscription to the PSA Collectors Club with the idea of shipping the first test batch in March, although for different reasons I didn’t have time to send them until the beginning of April, when PSA announced that they were not going to receive cards from outside the USA (I am from Europe).

I have been following the whole situation for a month and thinking about what to do until a couple of days ago, seeing that I have already paid the subscription, that the problem has been going on for a few months and that there are people who have continued grading cards, I also decided to do the same.

In spite of the PSA announcements, it is possible to continue making submissions, although it is true that you will be charged with the tariffs. I don’t mind paying that extra, so today I decided to start preparing the shipment, but when I went to the courier company, they told me that I need the VAT number from PSA to make the shipment.

I have searched in Google, as well as both the PSA and Collectors website, but have not found any information on this. As I know there are people here who have shipped internationally, do any of you have that number and could you tell me where you got it?

I thought about asking PSA customer service, but seeing this is an international shipment, they will most likely not answer or tell me not to ship the cards.

Thank you very much,

Chimp.

PSA doesn’t have a vat number as it’s an American company.

You shouldn’t be charged import VAT on anything returning to Europe from USA that you temporarily exported.

You also don’t pay VAT in Europe on services that you bought from the USA.

You also shouldn’t be charged by USA customs on your submission as it’s a temporary export and not a sale to a USA company.

Mark your export doc as a “sample” and clearly state that it’s a temporary export to be returned within x days.bShould be fine imo.

Or just be based and submit to BGS Germany like all the cool guys (me).

They don’t have a VAT number, but PSA’s parent company Collectors Universe has an EIN/Tax ID that you can probably use instead: 33-0846191

Maybe has something to do with the new Tariffs? I don’t know, I told them it was not a purchase and the cards will be sent back to me after a few months, but they said I need to write the VAT number of the company in the Proforma Invoice.

I already sent some cards to BGS a few months ago, but this time I want to try PSA.

I will try with this one, thank you. Let’s see if this works, I will write the outcome in a couple of weeks when PSA confirms (or not) the arrival of the package.
