PSA to open a submission center in Germany this year

In an interview with “The Athletic”, PSA confirmed that they are looking to open a German forwarding facility in this year, similar to what CGC did in 2023. The location is yet to be determined, as is the exact opening date.

Germany was chosen since it (according to PSA president Ryan Hoge) stood out among European countries in terms of submission volume. He also mentioned how the cards coming from Europe were primarily dominated by TCG, particularly Pokémon and soccer cards.

Alternatively, here is an article by Sports Collectors Daily covering the interview.

Awesome news. Currently, middlemanning to PSA costs $30-ish which makes grading barely ever worth it for most cards under 200-300 bucks.

I am not really that much into grading cards and I don’t know if I will ever send cards for grading in the future, but as an EU citizen these a great News.

Well for TCG bulk the going rate is more like 22-24€, but if the costs are near the $14.99 you’d pay to PSA directly (so say 15€ for instance), that would of course still be a signifcant improvement.

Yeah, also some of the middlemen charge extortionate upcharge fees… speaking from experience lol.
Sub also took a month and a half longer than another sub sent the same time

I’ve just graded most of my PC with CGC. Oh well! Time to buy more cards!

God bless.

I’ve been looking into submitting cards for grading to PSA and doing it from Spain->USA sounds like a royal PITA, and middlemen are rather expensive. Very good news to read.

Honestly being based in the UK I will still likely be sending my monthly subs direct to California as I’m worried about delays and border issues with Germany post-Brexit. Regularly have delays and issues with shipping to the mainland.
