PSA Label slightly different in Scan - Gold Star Charizard

Hey everyone

I picked up a PSA 7 Gold Star Charizard the other week from a reputable seller. Card looks great. The wear on the back edges match the scan perfectly. Every imperfection in the scan is on the card itself.

It passes the Blacklight test on the front and back.

Only issue is, there is a different label in the scan than on my card. Not a different cert or QR code, but you can see they are different labels based on spacing around the bar code and above the PSA sticker, as well as the QR code.

Now if you notice the last picture, that is the label from the scan. You can see the ink is poorly applied. My suspicion is the card was slabbed and scanned, then didn’t pass QC due to the ink application, then reholdered without another scan.

What do you all think?

Here are the pics

me thinks people are using the forum now to evaluate fakes and discover pain points to make better fakes

Not the same card and a fake slab.

How are you seeing this is not the same card and a fake slab?

The card literally has all the same edge wear down to the pixel. I just came on here to ask more about what would cause the label to not line up with the scan, as I think the label was updated by PSA and then not rescanned.

I have an inquiry with PSA to help me understand why.

Given that the slab is fake, I suspect it is a fake card made to look like the real one. I don’t feel comfortable sharing my analysis. There are several signs it is not the same card.

I mean….i have done a pixel by pixel analysis on this card with the scan and the card I was sent. It’s 100% the same card as the scan and the slab is certainly not fake.

I only came here to ask about the process of QC and why the label would have different spacing from the scan.

The seller has already offered to fully refund me but i told him im waiting for the PSA inquiry.

I agree with this analysis

Sorry which analysis? Mine or the gentleman saying I have a fake?

@rtas saying its fine

Gotcha thank you. Sorry, getting used to this forum on mobile.

Ok, I’ll give you one out of good faith. These do not appear to match.

looks fine to me. not sure what the other guy is on about

the card has the exact same damage in the exact same areas as the scans, maybe im missing something obvious but PSA will probably just say that its fine

Some additional pics

You can see the two little dots from the scan and on my card. And I even identified the swoop shaped scratch on the bottom of the slab to the scan

Yeah I really was just wondering why they put a new label on and didn’t rescan. That is why my suspicion was the ink in the scanned label was poorly applied so QC caught it and had a new label put on.

Can you take a pic of the Pokeball on the back and a pic of the bottom left text on the front?

I have never seen PSA goof on the anti-fraud logo and make it way too long.

Yes I can get some better pics shortly. And yes, the sticker is what I noticed first and the barcode being close to the red border.

That said, after looking at a ton of additional slabs, I have seen other examples of the stickers getting super close to the bottom text. Will grab some better pics in just a sec

Your card & slab is authentic

Why does the 5 have a giant tail?

Ok I tried to get some detailed shots. You should be able to compare the white dots on the back, imperfections, etc to the scan
