PSA: Check Your Language & Your Backs! EVERY TIME!

So, minor whoops on my part. Figured it could serve as a small reminder/PSA for all multi-lingual collectors out there. So I’ve been starting to finalize my Gyarados collection to be up to date with a huge chunk being Unlimited Rage of the Broken Sky cards. I ended my monthly budget early with my final purchase being for what I and a seller THOUGHT to be a Japanese Unlimited Gyarados EX 018/080 Card.

It JUST arrived today and while I was taking pictures with the 1st Edition and English version I noticed something odd:

The text didn’t look right. I took a closer look and realized it was Korean. Not only that, I was dumb enough to not request pictures of the back:

I normally request pictures of the back on all front-facing cards but the condition looked solid from the front and the price was okay (still a little more than I should have paid) so I figured it would make a solid binder card either way.

I decided to keep it anyway as it’s one of my favorite arts of the Pokemon and as a reminder that sometimes we need to - in this case, LITERALLY - pay for our mistakes.

Cheers!

Small FYI, checking the back of Korean cards isn’t fail-proof, since there is a Korean Pikachu promo with Japanese back. The one on the left below (didn’t had a separated picture, so ignore the right one):

Never seen any other Korean cards with non-English backs, though. So I guess this is a one-time exception.

Still a nice Korean Shiny Gyarados, though! :slightly_smiling_face:
