Hello,
What would a raw maybe let’s say gradeable psa 7 square cut blastoise go for does anyone know? Only one I see sold for like $80 in August in terrible condition and one listed for an enormous $3600 (I guess it’s an error too).
Thanks!

Assuming it was from a reputable seller? $80-$110
The most recent authentic square cut blastoise I sold went for $80 and sold within an hour. So $100 or $110 may be more close to the accurate price.
Seller reputability plays a significant role in price. Anyone can cut up a poor condition base set sheet with scissors and claim it’s a square cut… but they have a fraction of the value.
Okay thank you! What is the history behind these? I see even troll and toad has it in their sell list…why only blastoise though? Only Blastoise only ever had the square cut?
Square cut cards are cards that bypassed or just slipped through the corner trimming stage of manufacture. Certain employees and some of their associates pulled the cards from the discard bin after press maintenance, but a small amount of them slipped through the trimmer later to be found in packs by lucky collectors.
All of the cards were square before the corners were trimmed so they all had a chance at making it through without the corners being trimmed.
Ah I understand, very interesting thanks for the history lesson!
Glad to! ![]()
