I ended up caving and paying someone more than I would have liked for their extra spot. Looking forward to seeing everyone out in San Fran!

Same. It’s the only way these days.
Hi, Everyone! I’m Rose and the mother of an autistic daughter who has been obsessed with Pokemon for the last five years. I learned about XP last summer and spent this past year trying to get information/buy passes–little did I know how damn hard it would be. I took a total leap of faith (in the universe) and bought us flights from Dallas and booked a hotel, and now she just needs a way to purchase a pass.
Here’s my question–I’m planning on coming with her no matter; she doesn’t care about the area at all (she’s a plush and figurine collector) so the XP part is all she cares about. Any advise from you experts? I plan on having cash on hand–is there a shot I can buy a pass/share a pass there? Does that happen? Sorry for so many questions–I’m just trying to make a dream happen, and if I have to sell a kidney to do it, I have an extra. ![]()
@silversnorlax204 @ucfjag may I ask how much you paid for your passes? I’m looking to buy and don’t really know what is a good/bad price
You can still join the interest list for a single-day pass until June 18, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. PDT. The link is https://registration.pokemon.com/flow/pokemon/26sanfrancisco/landing/page/main However, if you are selected, you will only be able to purchase a pass for either Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Not for more than one day.
If you are looking for a multi-day pass that is valid for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, my understanding is that you will likely need to get in contact with a competitor who qualified to the World Championships in order to purchase from the two multi-day passes that they receive for qualifying. I am unsure of when they will be able to start registering their 2 chosen guests. Buying or sharing a pass with people could be possible but it depends on how strict Pokemon will be on checking that the pass wearer matches the pass info during the event. For example, you cannot pick up your badge if your government photo ID does not exactly match the name you entered when you purchased your badge. Additionally, the passes are non-transferable. Pokemon also states that “Passes are not for resale. Resale, or attempted resale, is grounds for cancellation without refund.” so be aware about the risk of getting a resold badge and having it possibly cancelled.
Thanks for this insight and feedback. We are definitely registered and hoping for at least single day passes, but it would be a dream to buy a multi day pass from a competitor. Fingers crossed!
I paid $400, which I think was a bit high. But I already had flights and a hotel and didn’t want those going to waste over an extra few hundred bucks.

at the moment invites for competitors haven’t been sent out yet,but I suppose they(we) can register our guests as soon as we receive them.Today is the closing day for the cp leaderboard,so I suppose we should get the invites very soon
it’s high compared to past worlds, but considering the ever-growing pokemon craze and all the new stuff we have this year compared to previous worlds, maybe it’s still a fair price
Since you have ample time before worlds,I think you can totally find 2 passes without risking to arrive in San Francisco without. Also consider that in previous years, names on passes(at least the ones us players got) were locked in a couple weeks before worlds,so to do things properly and have a spectator pass with your name on it it’s better if you don’t wait for the very last minute
I have bought passes, 3 for my friends and one for my little brother 3x at $250 and one at about $280 using Twitter to reach out to competitors selling their passes. Had success with 3 people out of the 37 I reached out to.
Was lucky enough to get mine directly.
I’ve also got one at 250. Would kill for another. And the arena passes i feel don’t exist for anyone.
Yeah mine were direct for $120 but I was unable to get the arena pass, now might be the last chance to try and get more at that price from the NAIC qualifiers
The good news is that competitor +1 passes do get arena access as part of the perks. It’s stated in this section on the XP website:
I assume TPC kept some arena seats reserved for competitors and their families since they cannot register until end of June/early July.
So helpful! Thank you!
May I ask where on Twitter were you seeing those? I don’t have an account there anymore, but I could open a new one if it’s a solid pathway.
I type Pokemon Worlds in the search bar and go through the posts of people selling. Fair share of random and scammed accounts so make sure to verify the Twitter page is of a competitor. Looking at prior posts and the age of the accounts helps weed out scammers/non-verified sellers
Souds like a smart move.Luckly the pokemon competitive community is pretty active on twitter
Hi, Everyone–thank you again for the group support in helping me make getting passes for my kiddo a thing. I found someone on X that is willing to sell me his passes at a decent rate, but I’m worried about how to process the payment. He tells me he will fill out our names on the rk9 website—does that sound right for those of you that compete?
Yep.Basically you have to trust him, because if he really wanted to change names after you paid,he could. My advice is to check if he’s really a competitor, besides that there is not much you can do,besides maybe asking for references/see if he’s known here
