Pokemon World Championships - Honolulu Aug 16 to 18, 2024 - Spectator Pass Registration

Oddly, I got this response when I submitted a support request about the spectator tickets:

My question:

I won the lottery and got 2 spectator tickets to attend the Pokemon World Championship in Hawaii this August. I will be attending with a friend who’s flying in from a different city and arrives later than me. Does my friend need to be present when I pick up our tickets? The main registration is under my name, and his name is on the extra ticket. Thanks!

Response:

If your friend is listed as a guest and the main purchase/registration is in your name, you will be able to pick up both tickets by yourself as all tickets from the same purchase are printed out together.

I’m emailing back to double check since this is inconsistent with the rules for competitors.

I have an extra Friday pass if anyone needs it. PM me :]

Hello! I’m a competitor in the TCG event and would like to sell two spectator passes. You will need to be present with me during the check-in. I will be landing in Honolulu on the morning of August 15 so there will be plenty of windows when we can meet. I can provide proofs of my flight tickets if needed.

I’m interested if they’re still available! Can’t seem to dm you

I’m totally late to the game this year

I’m looking for 1 full-weekend spectator pass. Last year I hit the jackpot and our family had 6 to sell at cost. This year I totally dropped the ball and somehow entirely missed the deadline for the interest list and have 0!

Going with our family of 4. Flights booked and trip set. Our son qualified as a competitor, so 3 of our family is covered - just need one for me :grimacing:

Dm if available - thanks for considering

CORRECTION - I forgot about the power of twitter - My son found many competitors selling their extra spectator passes and I was able to secure one. As I did last year for Japan, I’ll start a list of verified Competitors selling their passes on this post and update. If anyone is still looking for a pass, please contact them directly via Twitter. Some I know personally, others I do not. Please know they are raising money for travels to compete - so please be comfortable with going rates of $200-300 per pass. They are full weekend passes Friday - Sunday, not just one day passes.

Still working a deal myself, but I have found that the going rate from Yokohama last year (around $200). Has increased to about 250-300 this year. Just so everyone knows and doesn’t get price gouged out of their minds.

Also worth noting - if you purchase a pass from a competitor - you MUST be able to coordinate being on site WITH the competitor to pickup your badge when they register. This is the specific language sent to competitors about badge pickup.

All competitors will be checking in Thursday as competition starts Friday. Most will also probably go early in the day Thursday.

The spectator badge will have the name printed on it. I would guess that you could perhaps coordinate with the competitor to have the badge assigned to a different person that doesn’t need it but can be there at pickup. As once you have “a” badge, they typically won’t recheck ID’s on entry. You just wouldn’t be able to get a replacement if you misplaced it…

Food for thought…

This is what they said when I asked them to double check:

We have confirmed that you may indeed pick up both passes yourself as they are in your name. Please ensure you are carrying a valid form of identification.

I’m honestly not sure whether I trust it, though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

EDIT: Also, I’m looking to buy a ticket for Friday! I managed to trade for the other two days. Help a Goomy out :purple_heart::green_heart:

Hi everyone,

I’m selling two spectator passes for $200 each, they are the multi-day ones since I’m a TCG competitior: my twitter is @CCollectorsOT . Prefer to sell to someone that can make sure they are there early on Thursday due to wanting to pick up badges in the morning, please reach out, thank you!

Spectator passes were going for $100-$150, week of last year.

Be patient people.

Sorry for slightly off topic, has anyone been able to sign up for a timeslot for shopping? I keep getting a spinning wheel when trying to select a time to enter.

Same experience as you. Trying on two different phones and different browsers. Tried different days and times and just get the spinning wheel.

Just a heads up, try starting over and entering again from the email link. I was able to book a slot on Wednesday. None of the spinning circles I had open earlier changed status though.
