I remember when the pokemon direct was announced and everyone was hyping up for pokemon switch and then they showed pokken dx for aggeeess and everyone was SUPER salty xD I have nothing major against ultra sun/moon but I was in this reddit thread as it was happening and boy was it hilarious. I felt quite the, roller-coaster of emotions followed by nothing special lol Good for a laugh:
“They were also like “lol look at the Switch! It’s our new console, and I’m sure many fans would want a Pokemon game on it. Get ready…POKKEN TOURNAMENT DX! You excited for more Switch games? Keep looking at the Switch! Good. Next we have Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon exclusively for 3DS. Good day, and go f*** yourselves everybody.””
“hey guys, we’ve patched the game.
please buy again
at full price”
In all honesty, i think it would be more well received if they just called it pokemon stars or a new name instead of black/white 2, ultra sun/ultra moon cos they it seems like a fully fledged new game. Funny how one word can change everything.
What would you rather have, pokemon ultra moon or pokemon stars?
I’m 6 hours into Ultra Moon right now and I’d have to say that this is the first time I’ve ever been disappointed in a Pokemon game. I played Crystal, Emerald, Platinum and I didn’t ever feel ripped off during those games. There’s nothing majorly different about these games and it was all shown in the trailers before release.
I don’t understand why these weren’t direct sequels? Lillie going to Kanto and maybe coming back or the player traveling to Kanto after beating the game? Something, anything? Nope. We’re just gonna throw in all 40 legendary Pokemon and add in a Giovanni battle and call it “Rainbow Rocket”.
I typically collect the pokemon games because ya know…collector and all but even sequels of Pokemon games tend to be slightly different. If it’s literally the same game but with just more legendaries and a Giovanni battle, I’m out.
Do you own either Sun or Moon? If you’ve played those games then you’ve played these. I’m 8 hours in right now and the only noticeable difference off the top of my head was how you get your starter Pokemon and 2 battles with the Ultra Recon Squad. There is a very slight uptick in difficulty too but not enough to call it a “hard mode” or anything like that. I’ve been told that most new content is on the fourth island/end of game.
If you’ve got 20-30 hours to kill over the course of a week or two then try the games out but I don’t think you’d be missing out on much here.
Thanks for letting me know. Yeah I have played Sun and moon, and I do not have that much time on my hands to replay the same game with almost the exact same gameplay. Kind of really sucks how lazy they are with this release
This seems like a game that will go on sale a year or two later for like 25$…
