Except I have 6 different IDs lol.
The one I use here is King_Pokemon which is only 2-3000 rated. My others, though I keep them separate and private, might change your mind;)
Lol sort our stores by price high to low and you will see who the big dogs are. I am just a mere mortal peddling shiny cardboard to primarily TCG players. They own the grails and the most coveted of prize cards. One day I may join those ranks, though that day is likely a long ways away. Even you have much better cards than I, pokesyn.
I still need to get a collection thread up one of these days. Now it will be even more of a let down when it is known how humble my little collection is!
Amazing, thanks for taking the time to write this up. This is definitely what I was looking for.
I’m not sure what else to say really. I’m a bit blown away by the depth. Thanks for you honesty. It’s really interesting how you’re able to combine the two and make it to work for you. But also how there’s a massive jump between selling part-time and full time.
@thecharizardauthorty is full time eBay as his primary income source and is on the forum. Some of his old posts will lend some more info on his background that he so graciously shared in the past.
How many hours per week on average do you work to keep up with the eBay sales if you don’t mind me asking? Anyone helping? Like I said I average a healthy 25-30 between myself and my help and I am only a fraction of your sales. I can’t imagine the time you must put in. Your efficiency or hours must be up there (likely both).
I usually get up between 6 and 8 and work until 4 - 8 in the evening. I make it a point to put away everything after a certain point and on Sunday completely. I could work 18 hours a day everyday and be physically fine with it, but there would be no point to life doing that. Every now and then I have to get up extra early - usually Mondays around release (this week haha)
My wife helps my in the morning with shipping and then when I am behind I hire out my parents and other family members to open and sort items. My average “awaiting shipment” daily number is 110-160. That is not cards but orders. Around new releases it will be closer to 200 or more.
I invest a large portion back into Pokemon - which has yielded growth each year. It was about year 5 that I was doing Pokemon completely. Year one was nearly nothing as I was just messing around trying to complete sets. It was a little easier back then as there were no limits on ebay haha. I was so lucky to have my entire inventory listed online when they implemented that!
Man Rusty, your work ethic is incredible! Gary and I always wondered how you manage that level of volume. Still can’t believe that work ethic, unreal! Glad you are doing well!
I wrote a big huge post about the story of why my local shop is so successful and has been in business since the 80s, whilst dozens of other card shops have come and failed. But then I pressed the back button on my mouse by accident and lost it all.
