Pokemon Pocket Megathread

This was pretty interesting (and not really surprising), the cards in a TCG Pocket pack are determined as soon as you click ā€œOpen a Packā€. Not by which random pack you select in the circle of packs. (So it doesn’t matter which pack in the circle you select.)

Thank you for the code! I got these two cards from those free packs. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

So, I had an interesting thought. Since Pocket lets you auto deal and go do something productive, what decks do you find the computer does best with? Does it matter? Or does the duel PC manage to pull it out regardless?

@xileets I’ve never done the auto play feature. I need to try it. I wish the game would let you play against decks that the user creates too, to test decks and for training. (Update: just tried it on auto and I lost to the computer who was playing a deck that had weakness to mine. Won’t be playing on auto again.)

2,000 cards in and finally got my first crown. :crown:

The computer is Really dumb. I mean. REALLY dumb. I’ll sit and watch sometimes, and say,

ā€œWHAT?! Why did you put an energy there?!ā€ " Why sacrifice the EX when he’s gonna KO you on next turn?!"

Gotta stop myself from taking back the reigns. Sink or swim, CPU. Sink. Or. Swim.

And great mew! I’ve no golds, myself. Just rainbow thingies? Golds are better, yeah?

Does anyone have a dartrix EX, they’d trade to me? I will gladly trade some rarer art stuff.

Do you mean Decidueye EX? I don’t think it’s tradable yet because it’s from the most recent set.

Yes. haha.
Ah… dang. I have a deck I want to build, but can’t seem to pull it.

Anyone else find the ā€œthanksā€ system to be really annoying in this game? You get a shop ticket when people thank you after a battle, so it’s useful, but getting the actual ā€œthanksā€ is not guaranteed.

I have noticed that I very rarely get a ā€œthanksā€ from my opponent if I win the battle. I get most of them from losing battles.

I have a hard time believing that so many people are sore losers. Yet so it seems.

Even when I am deeply frustrated with one of my losses I still hit the ā€œthanksā€ button, every time. Because if I didn’t, that would make me the sore loser. Maybe I’m weird to care about this. :man_shrugging:

ā€œThanks! You just made me lose the one game I needed to reach master rank!ā€

Even top tier meta decks rarely have higher than a 60% win rate. Usually it’s closer to 55%. Losing is a fundamental part of the experience in a game controlled by luck. Sometimes you just get a bad hand. I just see it as common courtesy to give them their shop ticket, and view it as one of my 40-45% losses for the day. Different perspective I guess.

Yeah, I give thanks 99% of the time. But yes, probably 50% of people (or more) do not give thanks when you win a match.

The two scenarios where I stopped giving thanks are when:

  1. They rage quit and don’t concede, so I have to sit there for like 90 seconds waiting for the match to time out.

  2. They immediately concede at the beginning of a match because they didn’t get the starting hand they wanted.

Oh yes, I completely agree with those exceptions. Rage quitting in such a way that your opponent is forced to wait 90 seconds doing nothing is just immature.

I guess it’s (slightly?) excusable if you view it as them mad at the game, not them trying to punish you / waste your time.

However, anyone who gets that worked up by a loss that they hard quit the app is… probably letting a game affect them too much.

Were you not on Xbox Live in the mid 2000s?

Oh I was there haha. I just thought 20 years would be enough time for people to mature. Sometimes I forget the world didn’t grow up with us, we’re just the old ones now.

An other frustation. Iam a non payed user. The % I play and loose against the AI robot is 99.9%. Your experience?
