Pokemon Pocket Megathread

Curious how many total Pokemon people are using in their decks?

A lot of the theme decks seem to be loaded with Pokemon vs item/trainer cards. I’ve had the most success with a deck that only has 7 Pokemon (Five Basic and two Stage 1.) Two of the Basic are ex.

Having fewer Pokemon makes it a lot easier to draw the cards you need when using Poke Ball. And unlike the real TCG, Pocket seems to default give you at least one of your basic on the first draw no matter what. (So you don’t have to worry about re-drawing a bunch and giving your opponent a ton of free cards.)

I’ve seen people have success with anything from 2 pokemon & 18 trainer to decks with two full stage 2 Evo lines. Anything past two stage 2 Evo lines is probably too much lol

Yeah, depending on the strategy, I will run only the evo chain I need, like 2 wiglet, wugtrio ex + 2 , or 2 lines of infernape ex only, to 2 vaporeon lines + 2 starmie ex lines + 2 articuno ex… really just depends. But if the game MUST give you a basic to start, and you have only 2 basics, then that means, you are guaranteed to get the 1st, and then second basic with the a pokeball.
Now that Iono is in the game, there’s a decent amount of draw support to run less cards and just draw/filter for what you need.

IMO. game has gotten a lot faster. (Still miss my XY evo sodas… )

Needless to say I was shocked. I doubt I’ll ever get that lucky again!

This was turn 1 playing my Wugtrio deck. Often times my opponent will concede early but they actually let me play out the whole match.

For those who are curious, 15 heads in a row would be 1 in 32,768 (0.00305%) chance. Time to buy a lottery ticket!

As a Darkray Giratina player, these 2 cards are way more problematic tbh

 I think the only ban fodder combo thus far is the Victreebel pokeflute combo.

It’s like a dream come true :face_holding_back_tears: :face_holding_back_tears: :face_holding_back_tears:

After 5 years… I can finally say that we have a new rayquaza card…

I believe this is, as they say, the point unfortunately

You know, they say they have no plans to bring pocket cards to physical sets, but I just know that Lillie card would break the market even more.

Is the rayquaza regular ex promo a pack chance thing?

This brand-new expansion isn’t the only thing to look forward to—a special round of missions and solo battles are starting on April 29, 2025, at 11:00 p.m. PDT to celebrate Pokémon TCG Pocket’s half-year anniversary! Pocket art is really destroying the physical ones lol.

That Marowak is superb. Lillie looks like a movie still (I guess it kinda is) and though the Raichu isn’t my favourite style it’s still so bright, colourful and just pleasing to look at.

It’s amazing what TPC can do with a set that isn’t tied to any specific TCG era, the artists are much more expressive on Pocket

There are some really good paper arts tho. But the FA and AR cards, definitely!
