It’s almost unheard of for games with microtransactions or gacha systems to ever directly nerf a card or unit. The logic goes that players paid money for a unit or card in the state it was advertised in, and not a nerfed version.
What developers usually do to handle this issue is to make the environment less hospitable to a broken card or unit. This can be done through single player content that makes it difficult to use or introducing other broken units/cards that check or counter it.
Of course, by introducing further broken things the meta may become increasingly problematic…but that’s to the devs’ benefit as it makes whales whale even harder to stay on top.
It appears they have no intention on slowing down anytime soon. On one hand it’s exciting getting new cards, on the other hand I’m still trying to complete Genetic Apex.
