Imagine achieving your main goal just to sell it inmediately …

Serious inquiries only, please

Well technically it took them just over 3 months to get this together. The intention was to flip it from the get go, so not sure if this was a main collection goal for them as such. I can be wrong, because I am associating goals to something to achieve over a long time.

It is a great accomplishment though. Even the card getting a 10 is so difficult to obtain not to mention some of the accessories can be hard to come by, let alone in mint condition.

Cheers!

I think it’s just about the humor in how he sets it up as this personal lifetime accomplishment, bringing him “so much joy”, only to immediately turn around with “serious inquiries only!”. I mean, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with buying, selling, flipping or making money in general, but it’s like come on you don’t need to pretend to be a serious collector to justify selling stuff

Since when has 107 days been something to brag about when completing goals, at least on level that it has to be mentioned with accuracy of exact days :new_moon_with_face:

Very spot on!

Smells like a low key Team Rocket Scheme to me :man_shrugging:

I saw something similar to this with a guy in a local Facebook group telling everyone that his “dream” was to collect a full PSA 10 1st Edition Neo Destiny set. Dude had been attempting it for years and got a lot of positive encouragement from people as he slowly completed his goals.

As you might expect, as soon as he completed it he turned around and attempted to flip the whole thing.

That is a big goal to accomplish. Maybe they sold for a bigger goal?

Some people are only into the chase, once they’re done it’s way too much money to leave in cards and they will want to chase something else to flex with that money instead

I didn’t follow. They’re free to do whatever they want with their money but it just makes me shake my head when it’s clear the chase was only financially driven.

I agree, sometimes people are also basically dealers so they know a lot of collectors and are able to source things but they know how to cash out their clients too, which in turn gets them more things. But props to him for finding most of the thjngs

This was my big issue with the seller Lowpopping when he first started on IG in 2020. Every day he was posting about finally getting that holy grail for his personal collection and that it’s staying for life and then within 48 hours it was available on his story for 30% markup. People should just be more honest imo but I think there is a myth that people don’t want to deal with dealers vs #truecollectors

This is true. Usually you collect something to hold on to for a bit one would hope.

Agreed. I don’t think there’s any shame with being a flipper or hustler if that’s what one wants to do. A lot of people on this forum run successful shops and are quite business savy. The Discord also has a bunch of modern sealed flippers that are pretty upfront about their goals.

But yeah, wish those types of people would be more upfront about being in it for the money.

Reminds me of that youtuber Phoenix Resales who made a big deal about achieving his childhood goal of collecting all gamecube games released, and used that story to get good deals on games from subscribers and vendors. Shortly after completing it, he put the games up for sale :skull_and_crossbones: :skull_and_crossbones: :skull_and_crossbones:
