The Squirtle went unsold? So, you’re saying there’s a chance… haha man, this is some crazy stuff
There wasnt the high interest back then like there is now, plenty went unsold there just hard to find.
In regards to the Squirtle, I had strongly considered bidding at the time it was relisted with Authentic grade. The centering is not visually appealing but it’s still an incredible card with a history I love.
Because there was no picture of the back of the card for the relist and pkonno does not answer questions, I unfortunately fell into the Western mindset that Authentic grade = PSA <6. I had not realized it was the same Squirtle as before, which had more pictures in the listing.
Pkonno has never sold cards that graded below an 8 and he likely authenticated this card in case someone thought the centering was off enough to not be real. I expect strong competition if he were to list today at the same price.
Edit – ugh, the centering isn’t even that bad. It looks fine on the ungraded copy. In the authentic one the card is slid to the right of the psa case which makes it look worse than it is.

Pkonno is absolutely balling out of control right now.
Anyone have any suggestions as to why this one isn’t graded?
Does it even matter if it’s not a PSA 9?
He obviously has access to quick grading
My main thought is the graded Illustrator sale brought a lot of unwanted publicity. Zen Market advertised and promoted after the sale, psa promoted, various articles about price point. Some articles included his Yahoo Japan and Zen market seller handle as well.
It’s Confusing what he grades. Has the No 1/2/3 new back 2002 girl trophies ungraded on zen, sold the 99 tropical mega battles ungraded and they were mint. But he took the time to get an authentic grade on his snap squirtle.
Analyzing why pkonno does one thing over another is pointless. The guy leaves tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars on the table by listing in obscure ways, refusing to respond to questions, etc. He grades some cards but leaves trophies unsleeved in card savers. He sells a 200k illustrator and a $30 sealed deck at the same time.
