I just mentioned on the pkmntcgcollections-reddit how Aquapolis had one of the weirdest numbering imo. It has _H1/H32_ through _H32/H32_ for the Holofoil Rares; then _1/147_ through _147/147_ for the regular cards, which each had a Reverse Holo variation; and then _148/147_ through _150/147_ for the Secret Rares. All in all still pretty normal, but then there are those pesky _50a/147_ and _50b/147_ Psyducks; _74a/147_ and _74b/147_ Drowzees; _95a/147_ and _95b/147_ Mr. Mimes; and _103a/147_ and _103b/147_ Porygons that screw things over…

Someone else mentioned that in the recent era there were also some promos with an _a_ in their set numbering, which is indeed the case for the [Yellow A Alternative Card promos](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Yellow_A_Alternate_cards_(TCG)). All of them indeed use an _a_ for the set number, except for the BREAKpoint Delinquent for some reason, which uses a _b_ instead. So that’s my first question: why does Delinquent use _b_ instead of _a_?

Then it also made me wonder which other sets there are with non-numeric set numbering. I know about the [A/28 through !/28 Unowns of the EX Unseen Forces set](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/EX_Unseen_Forces_(TCG)); the [SH Shining Pokémon](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Shiny_Pok%C3%A9mon#In_the_TCG); the [ONE through FOUR Alph Lithograph trainer cards](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Alph_Lithograph_(TCG)); the [RC Radiant Collection cards of XY Generations](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Generations_(TCG)). I guess there should be quite a few more, so who can name them all? 😉

Japanese PLAY promo’s have a number but no total setnumber. They’re /PLAY.

I didn’t know about the b for Delinquent, that’s indeed something strange.

Bump. Anyone has any idea why Delinquent is with a ‘b’ instead of an ‘a’.

And do you know any other non-standard set numbering I’ve forgot about or simply haven’t heard about before? (Except for the new Hidden Fates - Shiny Vault.)

I believe the Japanese Diamond and Pearl sets did not have set numbers for all cards. Try that one on for size!

Guess you can add the new SV cards now from Hidden Fates?

Ah, true indeed. Some of them had the DPBP numbers (although also not all). 😉 And there are indeed some sets which lack a number completely for all cards.

Already mentioned them in my bump-comment. 😉

> Delinquent from Breakpoint has both a 98a (Battle Arena Decks) and a 98b (Premium XY Collection).
> I imagine whichever card is planned/designed first gets the a, the next gets the b etc.

Oh, I had no idea! In that case I’m gonna buy a 98a for my collection. It’s fun to have both of them. 😊
