Newbie Question - Do Pokemon still print sets in 1st ed?

Here a list of all 1st edition sets per language:

  • English (“EDITION”): (Shadowless) Base Set; Jungle; Fossil; Team Rocket; Gym Heroes; Gym Challenge; Neo Genesis; Neo Discovery; Neo Revelation; Neo Destiny
  • German (“EDITION”): Base Set; Jungle; Fossil; Team Rocket; Neo Genesis; Neo Discovery; Neo Revelation; Neo Destiny
  • French (“EDITION”): Base Set; Jungle; Fossil; Team Rocket; Neo Genesis; Neo Discovery; Neo Revelation; Neo Destiny
  • Italian (“EDIZIONE”): Base Set; Jungle; Fossil; Team Rocket; Neo Genesis; Neo Discovery; Neo Revelation; Neo Destiny
  • Spanish (“EDICIÓN”): Base Set (©1999); Base Set (©1999-2000); Jungle; Fossil; Neo Genesis
  • Dutch (“EDITIE”): Base Set; Jungle; Fossil
  • Portuguese (“EDIÇÃO”): Base Set; Jungle; Fossil
  • Korean (“EDITION”): Base Set
  • Chinese (“EDITION”): Base Set
  • Polish: no 1st edition print runs
  • Russian: no 1st edition print runs
  • Thai: no 1st edition print runs
  • Indonesian: no 1st edition print runs

As for Japanese 1st edition print runs:
The first Japanese 1st edition set (apart from the No Rarity Base Set) was the Pokémon VS set, and the last one was the Expansion Pack 20th Anniversary [CP6] (which is XY Evolutions in English) - so there are no 1st edition print runs for the Sun & Moon nor Sword & Shield eras. There are also sets printed only in 1st edition; only in unlimited edition; or for which unlimited edition was extremely short printed and rare. Some info about that can be found at the bottom here.So to answer the question in your title: no, they stopped printing 1st edition sets (in Japanese) since the Sun & Moon era. And in English and other languages they’ve stopped after Neo Destiny in 2002 (and the Base Set 2 and Legendary Collection sets didn’t had a 1st edition print run either).
