That PSA 10 MB auction set is just the prime example of collecting what you enjoy and can afford, with the understanding that if the value goes down, it’s okay because you enjoy it.

I was almost about to buy a few boxes as the upside potential was (and still is) huge. Such a great set. But glad I held out, now I can buy more for less soon I hope :).
Glad that printers finally go brrr on 151.

Honestly, if he would have not put a minimum threshold, I think he would have gotten more than whatever it sells for 3 years down the line. I think it will sell for less in a year to 3 personally.

Especially if they reprint 151 into the ground

When you see PSA 10 Master Ball holos selling for $20-25, it makes no sense buying raw and grading. At that price point, you’re already buying at or below cost. I expect to see even more copies selling in that price range after this new reprint.

Just putting it out there, boxes are selling for as low as $58.50 in Japan on SNKRDUNK

Some great signs :tada::clap:t2:

I’ve been watching prices on snkrdunk for a few weeks. I went from initially thinking I should buy a bunch when it hits $75, to deciding I should wait until it hits $65, and now I’m waiting to see if it hits $50ish a box (for 20 or 30 boxes) before pulling the trigger :sweat_smile:

Hopefully I don’t miss out due to greediness lol

How does something like snkrdunk work, do you need a Japanese middleman service for it? Or can you have it ship to the US and EU directly?

I haven’t bought from them before, but from what I’ve seen they will ship direct to the US. I think the EU may need a middleman service.

The description I get is that its like a Japanese StockX and they authenticate each box. I’d be a bit more nervous about fakes, but with how much the price has dropped and how massive the reprint seems to be, I’m not as concerned about it. If I do end up purchasing a bunch, I will open a few to confirm authenticity.

@Slade

What’s your experience with SNKRDUNK? This is the first time I’m hearing of it. Would you say it’s trustworthy for both sealed product and individual cards?

I’ll be honest, I have heard good things about them, but I have also heard bad things about them. I would say if you have no connections in Japan, go through them.
Also through this website SNKRDUNK, you have to pay taxes and shipping costs which can be high directly from Japan.

I personally use my middleman in Japan for all my sealed product. It isn’t as cheap at that site, but they are reliable and fast. Within 3 days I can have a sealed box of the latest Japanese set at my doorstep.

Obviously they are a little more expensive. As in, right now, the cheapest I have seen 151 through my middleman is $70 a box. Hopefully it comes down a little bit more, but right now I am putting in an order through them and DCA’ing over the next few weeks buying upwards of 5 cases.

Reach out to me on IG if you want some boxes and I’ll add your order in with mine.

If there are 160 masterballs, you’d need to open ~900 boxes to have a ā€œgood chanceā€ of pulling all (statistically).

Haven’t yet bought japanese 151 products but after these news I’ll certainly put couple booster boxes on want list. :slight_smile:

That’s the ā€œassuming no repeatsā€ part. The point I was trying to get at is that one masterball set looks like that in box form.

I saw the no repeats part lol. Just adding info for anyone who’s interested.

Man this is exciting. Preorder price competition seems to be all but confirming it being yuuuge!

Like everywhere else there’s been a rapid decline in eBay UK pricing over the last few days, pretty much from ~Ā£120 to sub ~Ā£80. If the reprint itself actually is in May, then I can’t wait to see what happens to prices when distributors and stores actually get hold of the main bulk of the product.

People say economic cycles generally take place over 5 year periods, I dunno if it’s a coincidence but there’s definitely been a 5-year round-trip from 2019 ā€œnormal and healthyā€ supply and demand through the craziness of the early 2020s, and now just coming back to normal.

Still have 10 boxes bought at 7900 yen each on Mercari on Friday that seller hasn’t shipped yet. I wont be surprised if the seller decides to cancel the order given the prices are bouncing back so quickly…

Reprint has already been released from what I’ve been told/seen!
