Yeap the general sentiment around the vmax doesnt look so good for now, though I am thinking with a good holo texture and shine, the end product might be decent, will reserve judgement until I see the real thing

I’m hoping that Pokémon Center online (UK) treats this UPC release how they’ve treated the celebrations PC ETB: print to oblivion and keep it directly available. I’d love to open 2 or 3 of these, but only if I can get them at retail: the pack selection looks solid, and the left and right promo cards look like they’re gonna be A tier. Would be great to get a set sent off for grading and a set for the chorryzord binder. That said, UPC releases have always (someone correct me if I’m wrong) appeared to have pretty limited print runs in comparison to other sealed product types. I hope this will be an exception.
Pokémon could print a bigillion of these and they would still sell out at retail price. I wonder if they like to keep these UPC releases somewhat constrained so it gives the feeling that their boring V boxes are the only option readily available.
Yeah I mean perhaps they consider the UPCs to be the pinnacle of their product offerings and prefer to maintain a slight element of scarcity compared with the run-of-the-mill ETBs and the like. For me personally as a consumer, I don’t mind if their approach is a one and done print run (if that’s gonna be their approach to maintaining that ‘premium collectors aspect’) as long as that print run is bloody massive. To be fair to the other main online UK retailers, they’ve been doing their best to ensure as equitable as possible a release for items like this, so hopefully I won’t have to watch their pages every waking second for a chance to compete with the bots.

Is there any indication where/when the Chorizo UPC will be up for preorder? All of my LGS just say “we don’t know how many we’re going to actually get”
I was able to put in an order through my LGS, but I have heard others say they won’t do preorders until much closer to the October release date.

It’d be incredibly irresponsible for stores to put up preorders without knowing their allocations for a limited product.

When do stores typically find out how much of their allocation request will be fulfilled? Several of the stores I spoke with made it sound like they didn’t find out until the delivery how many they were going to actually get, which sounds difficult from a business owning perspective.
Commonly I’d say a month or two before release but it can vary especially with these specific items that have crazy demand.
That is because they want your preorder money. Most will know much more than a week out what their numbers are.
Can’t wait to be heavily allocated again on these like with the Celebrations UPC 
Plus side - we are in for a treat with VSTAR Universe if these are just potentially three of the cards from that set.

I just noticed the Venusaur in the back of the first Charizard card. Why is there always beef between those two lol. It’s never Blastoise v Charizard. That would be more epic of a card imo, Charizard winning despite a type disadvantage
