I remember watching a clip where the main character of the show is asked something and he does this whole contrived speech as a response, and then it’s revealed he didn’t actually say it and he was just thinking it. It was a speech about consumerism and it was the most contrived, pretentious thing I have seen in a long time. I hate the pseudo-intellectual clap trap where it explains big corp to people like they are babies.
It’s exactly the type of show that you’d expect to be popular in the current era because everyone likes to think of themselves as a super informed citizen who knows all the facts about the big bad guys who run the world. But it’s so insipid because it never actually offers any solutions.
Having said all that it is a fictional television show and it’s written to be entertainment, so they are going to do whatever it takes to make the story entertaining for the audience, so I am definitely not going to hate anyone for liking it because that’d be stupid of me.
