Neo Destiny Shining holo shift

Is the holo shift on the Neo Destiny shining cards common? Does it hurt the grade on a card when the shift is obvious or protruding the artwork border?

Pics?

It is common. Pretty sure I have seen shifted PSA 10s

I see some 10s with it but also 9s, was just curious.

It does not hurt the grade. Here are 3 PSA 10 Shining Charizards I own (the middle was ungraded at the time of the pic). If you zoom in, the one on the left is most shifted, one in the middle a bit shifted, one on the right not shifted.

They don’t affect the grade, but I think they should. It’s the exact same as card centering.

I’m indifferent but I was also wondering if others had the same opinion as yours.

That’s a lot of money right there fam

In terms of it being common, I’ve owned a good mix of well placed and off-placed Shining holos, but none severe enough that it really stands out.

I dont think it does, my pack fresh 1st. Ed shining mewtwo had a bit of this issue and still got that 10.

I’ve been making sure the PSA 9 copies I pick up don’t have this shifting issue. Definitely prefer a well-aligned copy.

Personally I don’t care, if anything I think the shift looks cool rather than being an eyesore like bad centering. But I can see how people would dislike it.

Hard to place the firm position of what is rare and valuable vs ruined and less desirable. Who is to make that judgement for everyone eh.

Nevertheless, I have 1st ed base cards in a 10 with a holo shift just like that, do we begin to devalue those as well?

Also, thats my shining mewtwo holo shift psa 10. The card is sincerely flawless, and i see the shift as something that happens less than than often in a 10. I think its pretty cool, and have been offered $100 over avg sold price for it so far.
