Hello guys and welcome to another day. So the 10th mythical to go out of competition is actually the first one which I would rank higher in my personal rankings, meltan. Yeah I agree it looks like a nut placed on silver ditto but somehow sun and moon made me love this thing. Yet I am not sad because meltan as a design is truly not great and hence the third time in a row we got an alolan mythical going out… Positions are:
Do they? Hear me out, darkrai should go. Visually, it is nothing more than a ghost pokemon. Nothing stands out as out of the natural world to make it mythical. Lore-wise it manipulates dreams to nightmares and makes people feel the creeps , big deal. So does like every other ghost pokemon, even some psychic types do this.
There is nothing mythical to darkrai, at least nothing that compares to poke-god, the genetic first pokemon, pokemon that can travel dimensions, space pokemon that can alter forms, living machines, etc.
I broke my streak of voting for Genesect to keep Hoopa in. Diancie has to go first!
Hoopa Unbound Form is an incredible cool design, really fits the whole 1001 Arabian Nights feel of the origin story. Yes, Hoopa Confined Form is the “make friends with Ash” gimmick Pokémon… but if that is a downside and reason to vote something out we can also vote out Celebi, Mew, Jirachi, Shaymin right away
??. Mew is never in the game of being ash’s friend. One of the most mythically approving mon, it only tooks ash’s side just to stop the clowns and original pokemon fighting. Also the reason mew is great because it is cute and scary at the same time, unlike most other mythicals
Maybe not in the games. But the complains on Confined Hoopa are often on how childish and annoying it is in the Hoopa movie while also clearly have the “befriend Ash” trope. And if that is a valid reason to downvote, then all mythicals I mentioned.
Hoopa Unbound is an amazing cool design, it’s also a Mythical with a decent size (most of them are pretty cute and small) and has, just like Celebi, Victini, Jirachi a pretty unique and physics bending power.
yeah, is it weird if I am the person who actually don’t like unbond form more than confined? Confined is sure annoying but I generally can’t able to praise unbound form. As I said in my previous post to me it looks more ugly and less scary. So confined form is the thing saved it from my vote till date..
