I saw that at auction and wound up getting it for 480! I was pumped! I even got a Blaine’s 1st edition psa 10 for under 500 once as well. It seems to be a buyers market for these lower tier zards.
I think Blaine’s 1st edition psa 10 is undervalued at the moment. I saw last year it hit for 700+ three times! Now the average is well under 600. I’m unsure of the numbers of psa 10 but the last chart I looked at had the number of graded 10’s at around 160. I also thoroughly enjoy the artwork on it!
Not to derail this thread but it is charizard related. I’ve been watching a few zards closely over the past month and none moreso than the 1st edition shining. I put a psa10 up at a price I figured it wouldn’t get bought out for just to see where the market was. The last sales in March had pricing drop all the way to 1825/1880 but after that, no new cards surfaced. Because of an extended window of no new cards showing up, I had offers increase from 1800 to 2000 2200 bucks (multiple people in the 2000-2200 range.
Enter PWCC and @tnolan submitting three separate auctions simultaneously!
Do you think the sudden influx will depreciate the pricing for a bit?
@tnolan- wondering what made you decide to auction rather than BIN something that usually sells pretty quickly- do auctions usually end better for you? Is it just a matter of having a ton of product to push and maintaining a rapid, positive bottom line?
Anyone have any guesses what the three will go for? Just for fun
Separate question: How soon do you think the Burning Shadows secret rare GX bubble will burst (assuming that there IS a bubble)? I’ve been watching it for over a month and there are now over 400 PSA10’s. This card was under 300 (pop) like a month ago and it’s a print that seems to grade extremely well (there are far more psa10’s than 9’s). I’ve already seen the raw prices drop drastically (though they still seem priced higher than 1st edition darks and 1st edition blains- probably because they grade better?) - anyone waiting to buy them up when they drop in price to submit in bulk? Anyone sitting on a bunch of 10s already and getting nervous?
I’ve seen a lot of people weigh in on base set charizards that they think are undervalued. What about promos? Does anyone appreciate/buy the promos? Are they all mass/produced to the point of not really appreciating in value?
Thanks for the input! Just a few things I’ve been curious about.
