I’ve just never seen anyone remotely excited about an acquisition. It’s usually just, “ok that happened”.

Well, it looks like that guy we were all clowning about pushing for SGC to be “the next big thing” was HALF right. By “investing” in SGC he can now have all his SGC 10 slabs switched over to PSA 10s

I think this was meant to be funny? to me its just dumb. theyll regrade because psa grades harder than most other places i believe. So they just have a slab from a company that is no longer grading as easier as they did
If there is an acquisition there is likely a crossover offering. That part is not meant to be funny. Just like when CGC changed their grading scale and offered Blue Label grades a crossover at a discount for the newer Black Label updates. Or, Is SGC going to continue to exist as a subsidiary? What would even be the point of that though…

Sgc was psa’s only competitor in vintage sports. Sure, Cgc and bgs exist in theory but they don’t really exist in vintage sports in the real world.
This is like if Cgc were to buy bgs, which kind of seems inevitable now, where they would own 99% of the comic market.
What fanatics has been doing is a whole nother level. @pfm said it better than I could have in his post

Fair enough. Should have said there doesn’t seem to be any regulation looking into these things. Probably because the companies are private and relatively tiny.

Plenty of scenarios where grading I think is beneficial and not. I would not call it a waste of money in many situations.
