Becky, if you are patient enough, you can find auctions that start out at low prices as opposed to buyitnows. These auctions just ended last week (I finally completed my Crystal collection w/the addition of Celebi!!!):
Obviously some Pokemon are more sought after than others, like Charizard. I got mine at around $110. Also, there are some listed on Yahoo Japan! at 3000-5000 Yen, which is not too bad.
Because YJ is a japan only site we would not be able to buy it unless we use a middleman service which we do.
But depending on the price the fees vary so if it ended on 10000 i think the fees and delivery to uk the final cost would be near 14-17000 then there would be customs as well.
**Please stop asking for replies. No doubt people are looking at your cards and are pleased for you, but do you really need everyone to respond to every purchase?
For the record I do like your purchases, but don’t want to start a trend where everyone HAS to respond or people feel obligated to make comments.**
For your information, In the past 24 hours 20 members (out of 82) logged on and 124 guests were browsing through. I’m sure a good proportion of those saw your cards.
I’m not asking you not to post, I welcome everyone to do that.
It just comes across that you’re expecting replies every time you post, which I’m sorry, I still do not agree with.
If you think the numbers are low, and you want to publicise your purchases, Pokegym and Pokebeach also have collecting forums (and the admin staff of UPCCC also moderate there)
@becky - I apologize. I have to be fairly blunt, here.
82 ≠ 12,541.
UPCCC ≠ PokéBeach.
I think it is pretty obvious that the probability of activity here in comparison to activity on a larger forum is a world and a half apart.
I find that trying to incessantly motivate people to respond has a reverse effect. In certain circumstances, your posts succumb to deletion or you receive a stern warning.
I do not receive much of a response on PokéBeach, either - and it is the larger forum! I mainly display my collection for show, not necessarily for discussion. You should be proud of your collection regardless of what anyone says - or doesn’t
