A case holds 5 boxes of 120 sealed promo packs (1 Pikachu + 1 random other promo each). With the 5 [Happy Meals] packs per person limit, distribution ended at the end of the first day. Hypothetically if there are 2 cases for each of the 3,000 McDonald’s in Japan, the total should be comfortably above 3 million

I wonder if this card will go the way of Grand Prix Charizard, which isn’t an insult because they’re both great cards, but there’s just so much out there I don’t know if this will be absorbed.

See, I thought that about 001/SV-P (62k total graded, iirc approx £10 card when majority hit the market, easy PSA 10), but then this year they were selling as high £120. What.
If one thing’s fer true, it’s that the hahbee’s always taking what we thought we knew about market behaviour, supply, demand and society, then chewing it up and hurling it back at us like one giant, smug, defiant spitball.

With the stock market mentality, in a weird way it’s possible that such a huge pop could in one way benefit value. Something that transacts so often is easier to get a real time value, and if people are always buying and selling them, it adds a sense of liquidity. The fact it’s Pikachu eating a McDonalds Hamburger makes it mainstream enough too.
No idea what’ll happen though, I have a small stack of packs on my shelf that I haven’t even opened yet, let alone sent out for grading. I’m too slow for this zooming market. I like the card though, so whatever happens is fine with me!
