A few hours back I was watching this card because Neo Genesis is another set I want to complete after my Gym Challenge one is complete. And my oh my did this thing go bananas! When it ended I checked to see what others had listed the same card for. So I found this one for under $100 and went for it. It’s at the higher end of normal of what others had paid previously. But since this one sold for $285 I figured something might be going on. Can anyone offer insight?
124 PSA 10’s + numerous sales at around $100 or less for all of the card’s history + readily available on Ebay at less than half of the high sale price… you do the math.
So… fluke?
Well something doesn’t seem right.
Mine sat for months at $100 until this weekend - so someone probably did a buy out.
Edit*** Nevermind it looks like you can still get it for $80. I misunderstood

Often this is the case where someone - possibly the seller - is putting in bids that they aren’t going to follow through with.

That was my card. I’m a little concerned about it since I also noticed it was out of the ordinary, but the buyer paid almost right away and I’m shipping it out today. I guess I’ll see how it goes.

I probably wouldn’t even sell it on a fluke like this at that price. They’ll probably figure out they over paid and try to return it.

Sometimes people just over pay for stuff because they want it. I just paid $60 for a 1st edition Erikas’ Venusaur because It was in mint condition and i needed it for my binder set and I don’t really care about spending a couple extra bucks.

No yea I’m not knocking ya. It’s just Erikas Venusaur has a market price right around mid fifties all day. Steelix is all over ebay on buy it now for 200 less than what that auction ended at. I like what someone else said. Probably a dick measuring contest.

I just sniped a brock’s sandslash, but in the final moment put 50 dollars by accidents. Thankfully I wont for 6 dollars lol

That card, Steelix, is included in the Trainers Magazine, Vol. #5, which is listed mint, brand new for $12 on Ebay. The Magazine also includes a Grand Party Trainers Card Application Passport, whatever that is.
It’s a different art, ungraded, japanese and not 1st ed?
