Masaki Promos: Better Sealed or graded?

Hey all, recently i’ve caught interest in the 1999 japanese Masaki promos and have decided to go after my favorite artwork- the odd, Noboyuki Habu drawn Golem. I’ve been wondering though, would it be worth tracking a sealed promo or should i just track down a graded mint copy (raw “nm” just seems like a waste since just about all of them have a the corner marks)? Pretty sure psa10 pop is like 16 so the hunt would be quite the challenge. Just wanted to know the thoughts of others. Thanks!

by the time you have bought x amount and theyve ALL come back as 8s or 9s you would have spent the amount for a ten. id go graded.

I’d go graded too.

The longer they sit unsleeved in their envelopes, the more likley they will be or become dented. Its a catch 22

PSA 9 was the optimal choice for me. You get a mint copy without the dents (if PSA does their job correctly) at a fraction of the cost and effort of finding the PSA 10 version.

Your preference may vary but personally I’d recommend looking at PSA 8-10 copies if the dents bother you and PSA 6 or ungraded if you don’t mind them

I bought an alakazam off of eBay from a seller in Japan that was advertised as NM in the listing. I graded it and it got a 9! It did not have the dent these are notorious for. So you very well could get lucky in buying a NM one, id request alot of pictures though. But for a guarantee and speedy acquisition of the card, probably should just buy itttt.

If you want to go with clean and cost freindly, go for the set in a PSA 9.

Getting a true blue PSA 10 is nice, and rewarding, but costly and quite the challenge.
