Many of the Pokemon playtest cards were likely printed in 2024

That’s still like 9k if we are saying the value of the whole thing is 30 million, crazy how much money has been put into this.

I’m sure while we are praising him and while he is gaining people’s respect for this, Akabane/associates and CGC are cursing him for coming out with the evidence, I doubt they will give him anything beyond a refund for how badly he screwed them, even if he is doing CGC’s job for them I bet they don’t appreciate it like we do.

I’m sure the insurance company will do right by everyone. … :eyes:

If they refuse to payout for a misgrade ( such as psa often does ) that is one thing.

But not standing behind authentication would be a totally different thing that imo kills any credibility they still have what good is buying there slab regardless of price if they won’t stand behind the card inside being authentic much less accurately graded.

If cgc blunders the payout, I would love to start a thread for all the CGC cards that we buy just to crack

If I had one of this cards with a 1996 date I would be very concerned how CGC handles this.

Thank you very much for saying that, and I hope for everyone’s sake they do the right thing. It would be absolutely wild for them to show everyone that their authenticity guarantee is meaningless. I will try to remain optimistic and give them a chance to show they can handle this correctly.

If I get an update on what my payout will be and when, I’ll post my update here. I’m going to need new tires next month, so a payout would be nice.

Out of curiosity was the alpha protos that are still under investigation HQ or LQ?

Someone else had a LQ deemed not authentic.

I have several alpha playtest under investigation. My alpha proto was deemed not authentic.

The sheer arrogance CGC have displayed over the last few years since joining the TCG space (from astroturfing, to grading anything that will bring them clout, to lack of accountability with the prototypes), gives me no confidence that getting to an acceptable resolution will be a straightforward process.

I think if the resolution is satisfactory and comes around quickly, it will have been as a result of solid legal advice more than the CGC Execs’ willingness to do right by their consumers.

I’m still waiting for the official publication regarding the fake prototypes on CGCs website. Do they still have the old article up or has that been quietly removed yet?

this one?

By full refund, you mean a refund of the original purchase price of the card?

That’s great to hear. I hope this is mirrored for all other submitters!

Great news!

I’m sorry if it has been said already but… the cards confirmed as fakes will be destroyed or re-sent to the owner?

I’m not really into the grading world, but I’m curious to understand.
