For reference, mine took 2 weeks for them to log after being delivered.
Mine was logged as received today as well.
I was just going to post this. Maybe a good sign. I sent them my receipt form fanatics.
They seem to be notifying people in tranches and I think Matt and I had our packages delivered at about the same time. I’ll be candid here I had 19 cards spread among many platforms so this will take a bit of time for myself to collect. I am also weary that CGC will use these receipts to create a ceiling for reimbursement and try to low ball. Maybe just being paranoid
They would need the prices you paid no matter what right? I don’t think you should jump straight to the worst case
Agreed - I made the decision to be a guinea pig here so will just have to see.
We just might be the two people crazy enough to go first. As soon as I could submit my card for review, I sent it in. I didn’t have faith that Fanatics would help me, so I figured CGC was my only option.
I received the email as well. They have 3 of my cards to review.
I am keeping the 4th card for now to see what happens.
I received the email from CGC asking for receipts of my purchases which I provided. I hope this means they will be providing refunds.
Did anyone here have any of the HQ alpha prototypes B&W that they have sent in?
Seeing the email for recipts is promising was waiting to send mine in but if noone else has sent one I might have to.
The japanese community is catching up with the whole proto drama. This is funny, they have such a different take
What’s their take?
Their take is a pixilated picture that is not that pixilated (why do people do this?)
Sorry I used the wrong word, I meant the way they present things haha I love the way they overuse jingles and emojis lol
I watched the video and it’s just an overview of what’s already been discussed on E4. Their conclusions towards the end about no one trusting grading is extreme. Although Japan has always been weird about grading so that’s not surprising. Anyway it’s mainly a summary of the situation for the Japanese audience.
I think it’s funny that the image repeatedly used in the video is a gallery of the cards that are probably real. And the repeated tacit implication that us westerners were easier targets lol.
Overall a decent summary but not entirely accurate. Good enough for a Japanese audience that has no awareness of any of this.
The lotus bit was hilarious. It said that Japanese customers weren’t buying them but foreigners were - juxtaposed with a dopey white cartoon guy with brown hair making an o-face at having discovered the prototype card.
What’s interesting from this video was the interconnected relationships between Akabane, Lotus, and Kimura.
Added a lot more context beyond the flow charts. Most of the video was a rehash but the conclusion was just a wild take of “trusting grading companies is just gambling your money away” (paraphrase).
