I’m a big purchaser of loose packs. I’ve noticed a trend lately of pre-XY prices skyrocketing as well as nearly drying up on Ebay. Went through my purchase history and thought I would share what I found regarding pack price increases. Particularly a lot of the B&W Era stuff has shot up 25%+ or so since the start of 2018. *** Price today should be 5/23, not 3/23.

I’m wondering if this correlates with a certain set of cards within the sets – are Lv.X’s (DP)/EX’s (EX)/Secret Rares (BW)/Holos (Neo) rising in price (especially with regard to PSA 10s) with the same momentum as well? Anyone been monitoring that?
CoL has been consistently shooting up over the past 2 years, especially now that even with many PSA 10 SL’s graded, they’re still commanding a respectable price.
All shinies go for $200 - $400 for a set where you can pull ~2 shinies in a box… so they aren’t going for cheap relative to the pull rate & pricing of 36 packs. They’re going cheap for what they used to be worth because there used to be so few PSA 10s until recently… I’m surprised a lot of people are surprised about the price drop.
I’ve said that CoL shinies will become increasingly popular for a while now due to a variety of factors, so I personally think the price levels at this point are sustainable… the question is whether it’ll continue to grow and/or pick up greater momentum, to which I have my own hunches.
The price of loose call of legends packs have been tied heavily to the price of theme decks, which is $20 on amazon and contains a pack. People have been opening them and selling all the eveelutions graded. When I opened my 36 loose packs I got 2 PSA 10 SL and 7 PSA 10 holos, so I profited over $1000 at the time. I’m currently grading all the reverse. There is still some money to be made buying packs at the price they are.
