Looking for some answers.

Wasn’t there a thread on here that listed the different types of symbols to identify each card. Like the Team Rocket symbol, Jungle. Neo Genesis, etc…

I ask bc I have some cards with symbols that I’m not sure what set they belong to.

Here’s Houndoom for example:

Your Houndoom is from Neo Revelation. I don;t know what thread you’re thinking about but what I would recommend is looking on Bulbapedia each set has its own page with the set symbol listed. I also found this website which lists the different set symbols, hope this helps

That link will work fine. Thanks for sharing that.

PS:

It was a snap shot someone had posted on here somewhere. Oh well, this works just as good.

The best thing to do if you don’t know what set a card is from is to just Google the card’s name and number (Houndoom 8/64) in your case. If it’s a foreign set and you can’t type the name, just search for “Pokemon 8/64” instead. One of the first 2 or 3 links on Google will tell you what set it’s from.

I should have known to just google it lol.

I know you’ve got the answer you were looking for but I just wanted to mention Pokellector as it has a nice layout:

www.pokellector.com/sets

It’s not perfect (it doesn’t have every card in existence, the Japanese side is lacking in particular) but you can create an account and use it as a checklist database for your collection.

It also gives you pleasing completion percentages on each set as you check them off!

@crushingame,The Houndoom is from Neo Revelation. A great website for checking facts about cards is Bulbapedia.

I want to second this recommendation. I don’t often mess with any cards after e series and usually only Japanese so when I’m listing and selling English/modern extras the search function in this site has been a lifesaver trying to figure out what I have before I sell it. As long as you know the Pokemon name you can easily see all the cards and match it with what you have in your hand with the picture!

Maybe this is the link you are looking for. Easiest to read list of set symbols.

bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_Pok%C3%A9mon_Trading_Card_Game_expansions

The symbols disappear on mobile if you are in portrait, so just flip your phone to landscape.
