I’m putting my collection away into storage totes to keep everything together and away. I bought some large plastic bins. I plan on storing these for years in my basement on a shelf, but I was wondering if i should be worried about moisture or any other hazards of keeping my cards stored in these bins. They will have a lid on them, and for the most part be out of the light.
If you can afford it, I recommend a fire/water proof safe. If not, at least keep those bins very high off the floor Incase of flooding. If you’re worried about humidity in the basement, get a dehumidifier for the basement and put silica packs in the bins. Check both often.

Under your bed. They’ll never see it coming, just put some old used playboy magazines on top to deter any touching.
I don’t know too much about card storage, but I know that for some things you don’t want to store them in an air-tight container due to moisture condensation. I don’t know if this applies to Pokémon cards; you may want to ensure your plastic bins have air holes in if they have a lid.
