Large Swiss Pokemon Collection Appears on Instagram

I believe they own one of the two PSA 10 No Rarity Chansey, ooh

Potentially advertising to sell, I am not sure, I haven’t spoken to the collector in years. If anything it shows how booms create incentive for stuff like this to surface!

This is your moment. Unless youre the other owner. XD

It sounds like it was mostly passed to her. Makes me jealous of wealth in some ways.

Haha I’m not. Def outside my budget but cool to know it’s technically ā€œon the market ā€œ for once, never seen one for sale before

First thing i thought as well LOL.

From what I remember, he was sick or something and wasn’t going to be around much longer. Maybe he passed on the collection

Urs?

He was just a guy who was buying graded cards for years. I don’t think people realize how many large private collections there are. Not everyone posts what they have on instagram (well maybe they do eventually lol)

Now that you mention this, I do recall a European individual in this scenario. I always assumed they consigned and sold off their collection but maybe they did hand it down to someone?

Ah I see. Its an astonishing collection, but I’m waiting for the articles saying its all been sold in 6 months time.

Oooh they have packs also. Crazy collection. They should add many more packs.

Quite clearly for marketing. She literally says she wants to sell it all in one go, both in her video and on her website. She has been in contact with multiple auction houses but they wanted multiple lots which she refused, hence going public and trying to make noise to offload it all at once.

She inherited it all from her dad

Given the enormity and value of the collection (and the frequency of lower certs), I’m going to hazard a guess and say this girl didn’t purchase the cards herself – which is completely fine.

However, I think that means you can assume either A) It was bequeathed, or B) She’s something of a veneer.

Since she doesn’t appear to have any online presence or status, I think one can assume the former. She also refers to her father in the page, being quoted as saying:

ā€œā€˜Dad, couldn’t you simply buy all the PokĆ©mon cards? I think it would be really cool if we had them all.’

…

What once sounded like an innocent idea became the starting point of something greater. From a child’s vision, a shared endeavor gradually emerged over the years."

Note that it states shared endeavour, spurred by a child’s vision. I’d assume from that she’s almost certainly his daughter. Corroboration can also be achieved from those who sold to Urs confirming their previously owned certs in this collection. Considering some of the bigger collectors who have chimed in, regardless of if they’ve explicitly stated prior sales, I’d assume that’s confirmation.

Regardless, still an absolutely amazing collection to see! Owning all those Snaps, 2/12 PSA 10 Khans, and almost a third of the PSA 10 population of UniKarps is something crazy.

These kinds of people are the ones you are competing with when you are bidding on that slab

It’s nice to see so many first ed charizards in oa lot of languages. But she / they don’t own the first edition Chinese Zard or at least didn’t saw it on the video. I am wonder where this one is hiddenšŸ¤”.

Regardless of the motivation for sharing this collection or how it was amassed, it is neat to see these cards all together. Imagine a world where TPC/TPCi kept one of every card to be showcased in a museum in Japan.

That would be sick tbh. I’d pay to visit that museum.

She said in the video and on the site very lightly it was her fathers, and thus passed down to her.
