I’ve had the Dratini for a while but recently purchased the Dragonair and Dragonite to complete the trio. The Japanese T Promo line has always been one of my favorites and I plan on completing the rest of the set over time

I have been slowly collecting Japanese 151 since it came out this past June. Collecting singles from modern releases has been my usual strategy but this is the first set that I’ve wanted to complete in years. I wanted to take a different approach and do a binder of cards 1-151, the ARs, and SARs.
I’ll start with the main set cards. I really like the reverse holo Pokeball mirror effect that they used so, where possible, that is the version I went with. Some of my favorites from the main set are Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Wartortle, Weedle, Raichu, Parasect, Poliwhirl, Slowpoke, Chansey, Tangela, Starmie, Ditto, Flareon (obviously lol), and Articuno. For some of those, I ended up purchasing the Master Ball reverse holo to have the “best” version.
Next up we have the Art Rares. Not to sound repetitive but I LOVE the art for all of these cards. My favorites are Bulbasaur, Poliwhirl, Dragonair, Pikachu, and Mewtwo
Last but certainly not least we have the Secret Art Rares. In my opinion they are all pretty good, with Venusaur, Charizard, and Mew being my favorites. Zapdos and Alakazam would come next, and Blastoise at the bottom.

Such a cool set. I barely have gotten to the AR and SARs I’m still stuck on the commons. Off the top of my head my favorites are: bulbasaur, charmander, squirtel such beautiful art with a nod to the originals. Nidoking, Arcanine, pidgey. Never thought I’d like a pidgey card. Slowpoke? So awesome come on. Too many to list them all.
@stagecoach thanks, I actually got this binder just for this set. The quality is nice and this is the first full zip binder I’ve had. Really like the additional protection. At some point I plan on converting the rest of my binders into these for a uniform look.
@Rattlesnake totally agree. This set has been great at making you appreciate new Pokémon with just how good the art is for some of them. Good luck with collecting the rest of it!

I got most of mine from ebay. I know that it can be cheaper through Yahoo Japan or Mercari but I prefer the buyer protection ebay offers. I can DM you the names of the sellers I used

What’s up my dudes. Just got back the results from my last PSA sub. I know submitting modern Japanese is basically grading on easy mode, but I’m still pleased to see that I was able to get at least one 10 on each artwork for 151. There is something satisfying about being able to complete a set through your own submissions
