Thanks for sharing! I love that stamp. Since you shared this, here is a little write up:
I personally think events like this, well-prepared and thematic, are what makes some of these Pokémon promos really memorable. The way this one tied into Jeju’s local culture and scenery was really fun + it brought Jeju’s culture a bit closer for locals, kids, and visiting tourists.
It actually reminded me of the Ditto event in Seoul, though it’s a bit of a shame that this one didn’t include a promo card with unique artwork. I know there’s been quite a bit of discussion online about the artwork reuse since the same design was already featured on an earlier Shieldzone (drafting event) promo. Nonetheless, I think that with the event being built around plants, this makes the artwork more thematic.
Still, I really hope we continue to see more events like this in the future, even if the artwork isn’t a unique artowrk.
Jeju Pokemon Wonder Island Stamp Event
This event took place on the island of Jeju in South Korea. The main event took place in the Yeomiji Botanical Garden, which, during the event, houses actual plants, as well as Pokémon plants like the Exeggutor (which I read was about 14m tall).
There were two events tied to this:
1) Event 1 - Pokemon Go
A Pokemon Go stamp event, where you collected 8 digital stamps in the Pokemon Go app by visiting a variety of landmarks on the island. You received a Pikachu as a reward.
These landmarks included, among others: Jeju Airport, a famous coastal rock formation, a famous local beach, or the Yeomiji Botanical Garden, in which the main event itself took place!
2) Jeju Pokémon Wonder Island
When: 2 October 2025 - 26 October 2025.
Cost: free admission
Where: Jeju Yeomiji Botanical Garden
This is an on-site stamp event, where you collected 5 actual stamps for visiting the different parts of the botanical garden. You visit an area and stamp the sheet. The rewards were different types of merchandise as well as the Stamped Exeggutor promo.
Once you completed all the events, you receive a completion certificate - a card with either Pikachu or Exeggutor with your name printed/engraved on it.
I (and many other collectors in Korea) was sad that this card was used once again for a promo.Last time was this year for a Shieldzone drafting event (where players open 15 packs and play with them).
As for the actual stamp:
The building: roof of the Yeomiji Botanical Garden
Tangerine: The Jeju tangerine (Hallabong) - delicious
Pokémon: plants (aha…) + Pikachu
Photos from the event below!
These diving Pokémon symbolise Haenyo (lit. sea/ocean women) - the female divers of South Korea and mainly Jeju, nicknamed Korea’s mermaids, who fish for a variety of sea life by diving. This is an old tradition and, as such, many of the divers are older ladies, making them get even more respect for what they do. Haenyo were actually inscribed into Unesco heritage list back in 2016.
Wikipedia article that summarises this quite well: Haenyeo - Wikipedia
