Worth noting as well as someone who works in digital marketing… A celebrity with this many followers, especially active, real & engaged ones, earns around $1M (yes, that’s 1 million dollars) per sponsored post they usually delete after 24 hrs. A story mention can be 50-100k. This was A) a story video instead of just tagging a product in a post and B) clearly authentic and obviously not an ad. Easily several hundred thousand dollars worth of free advertising for Pokémon cards.

Speaking of celebrities, I just sold Phil Hughes, former pitcher of the New York Yankees, a few cards off eBay. He just recently started collecting Pokémon cards again and is currently looking for vintage cards.
I had no idea it was him until I had to ship out the items and noticed the familiarity in his name. I did a quick search on Twitter, and sure enough, he was posting about Pokémon cards. Just thought it was cool to see someone like him interested in Pokémon.

Gemmintpokemon sold him the Dark Raichu over Ebay. It sounds like it was not him that bought it directly but one of his employees or acquirers or whatever that put the set together for him. That probably also explains the psa 9 slave cards

I used to always make the joke that Deadmau5 was Canada’s apology to the world for Justin Bieber but this brings him up just a notch. Not quite enough to not make the joke anymore though…
