Hey all, hope you guys are all having a nice evening. First post here! I’m a relatively new “back in the game” collector chasing 90’s nostalgia and trying to build a solid Charizard collection. Hope to gain a lot more knowledge and insight into this hobby from you folks on the forum and the amazing youtube vids from Smpratte!
I saw a listing on ebay this evening for the Japanese Shiny Charizard GX for a -too good to be true- listing of $32.00. Saw a few had already sold and just had to jump on it. About an hour had passed and got an email from ebay saying “Your recent eBay transaction may be from a compromised account” and thought well damn, guess it really was too good to be true! Went through ebay’s steps and got my refund!
I wanted to put this out there in case a listing like this ever pops up again and to warn folks like me to not get too eager for a good deal haha! Definitely shoulda’ known better, but a casual reminder never hurts, right? Hopefully this doesnt happen again!
Glad to hear you got your refund quickly. This happened to me a few months back when I bought a psa 10 skyridge holo charizard off ebay for about $2000 I think. It was actually a nightmare to deal with, even ebay was taking their sweet time dealing with it. Took about a week to get my money back.
So sorry to hear that, man! Im surprised it took them that long to respond with the amount of money you put up! I guess because multiple people were buying this listing, they might’ve reacted faster to control the situation. I’m just glad ebay is for the most part good about having our backs with these issues!
Hope you eventually added that Crystal to your collection!
Hmm, that seems more like how someone got their account hacked, then dude other dude used the account to grab as much cash as possible before the person reported their account is stolen.
