Now that I’m fairly positive my English Master List is complete, it’s time for the Japanese! Got a couple questionable ones that I only assume exist or saw slight mention and I’m sure I’m missing a couple others.

If you happen to see anything thats incorrect or missing please feel free to reach out so the fixes can be made.

Although I had my doubts in the past, at this point, it would surprise me a lot if the unlimited edition E1 (Base Expansion Set) Gastly exists after all, and the same applies to all other unlimited edition E1 cards we haven’t seen yet.
The only unlimited E1 cards that have emerged thus far are: Ponyta (this one is the easiest to find, since it was an insert in the Info Pack vol. 4 magazine); Pikachu (the description of a Mercari auction mentioned the seller won it as a consolation prize in a Game Boy 2 lottery at his local JUSCO store in 2001); Pichu; Charizard; Meowth; and Clefairy. I have seen each of these six cards at least ten times each, and none of the other cards from the set. (And we’ve also seen some of the E1 Pokémon-e Starter Deck cards in unlimited edition: 002 Bulbasaur; 005 Chikorita; 009 Charmander; 010 Charmander; 013 Cyndaquil; 022 Totodile; 023 Crocronaw; and 024 Feraligatr. I’ve seen all of these 5+ times each, and none of the others.) No idea why the cards that have emerged as unlimited edition seem to be rather random..

As for the rest of the list:

Missing ones:

  • The unlimited edition of the E5 Mysterious Mountains Gastly does exist (and the correct number is 041/088 instead of 41/99 :slight_smile: ).
  • The Japanese Shiny Star V also had reverse holos

Those that can be removed:

  • The unlimited edition of CP6 Expansion Pack 20th Anniversary does not exist

Gastly you’ve marked with a :white_question_mark::

  • You can remove the ? at the unlimited edition of the Advent of Arceus Gastly, since that one does indeed also exist

Also, I wanted to ask you, what are the differences to note between the vending series 3 card and the Red & Green gift set card? I’ve looked at a few copies and I’m lost as to what differentiates one from the other. Maybe I’m missing something hugely obvious

The cards from the Quick Starter Gift Set do not have a rarity symbol and are not printed on glossy card stock.

But your question did remind me: the Vending Machine Series 3 has two different print runs: a light and dark print. It’s kinda an unofficial version tbh, but all cards in the set are consistently available in both a lighter and darker version. Here a video of GemMintPokémon where he puts each side-by-side (I’ve timestamped it at the Gastly for you).
