That didn’t happen with the base set shadowless man… And its never gonna reach any were near that… Even if it does… Like I said base set… Your dreaming man.
Just like you mentioned you were scared to drop money on 1st end shadowless back 5 years ago… You waited it out, but it didn’t help look at them now man.
There will probably be heaps of mint 9s, but it looks like there probably gonna be 10 at the max of each PSA 10… And that’s a stretch, I check yahoo everyday man, and the condition these come in is insanely shit, its not like English booster freshness. There still isn’t a mint 9 zard, and there doesn’t seem to be a second chariArd in last 2 months. People may get a bunch of 8’s but there ain’t gonna be 90 charizards like the 1st ed shadowless… And even if there was, people will take advantage of that market and they will be priced high.
But if you wanna wait again and see how it goes, that’s up to you… You seem to be an English collector though and you probably want to finish the base set. All i know is this set is much rarer and always will be, and that’s what matters to me as a Japanese collector, I love rare Japanese cards… I don’t mind spending money on them. Thing is as a Japanese collector I have been upset with the first sets because there just not rare, and I really love them originals so I had to collect the English… However that has changed big time, and by having my favourite set in japanese as some crazy rare thing is so cool, and dream come true as I never thought there would be a mint 9 on these since watching them.
I also sold my 1st ed blastoise shadowless to fund this venture of getting the ungraded set, but now alakazam and chansey is there and its probably gonna get in the way of me getting the set lol.

Yeah I saw these… as you can see such shitty conditions.
I know I’m totally alone in this opinion, but I don’t find the condition of that Venusaur card to be unappealing in the least. To me, it shows all the signs that it was once loved and enjoyed by a Japanese child.
No, it’s not a Gem Mint 10 specimen forever locked in a PSA plastic prison. Rather, it’s a card that can still be held and touched and enjoyed.
I’d hardly consider that to be “shitty.”

Yeah the card is awesome I want to have 3 sets of gem mint 10 hols and as many mint 9sets kinda like what Gary has done with his base 1st ed shadowless… Trust me I love these cards.

That’s the part I disagree with — that the condition is shiitty. It’s certainly not minty, but I’d gladly buy it for 2,000 yen to fill a gap in a no-rarity set.

no doubt, 2000 yen is not a bad price at all, but the corners look to be dented, or even peeling, in trading cards, condition is paramount!
Somewhere in Japan. Somewhere in a flea market, has to have those packs that contain NR’s. I am convinced. They are still sealed somewhere, dusty unopened. Probably selling for about 200¥. That is what dreams are maid of. I wouldn’t resell them if they farfetch’d me a couple of stacks.No Rarity Symbol, less characters, simple, minimalism. A classic prototype. My $.2 for a set that is truly PRICELESS.

My favorite cards of my collection are my raw, likely PSA 4-8 range cards that I collected when I was younger. Complete base jungle and fossil sets unlimited. I look at them and can remember the EXACT place I was when I opened that Blastoise. I remember all those packs I opened and I NEVER got that damn Charizard so I had to ask for it as a gift and my mom got it on eBay. I remember the week it took me to get enough commons and uncommons together to convince that kid on the bus to trade me his Venusaur. I remember the stocking full of jungle and fossil booster packs.
At some point I will start my collection thread on here with those as those are the only cards in my collection that I deem untouchable and would never think for a second about selling. I have graded many mint 10’s of all those sets, but sell those on and gladly hold on to the meaningful ones to me.

This just makes me want to go to japan and go to every card shop in Japan just to find all the NR cards or packs.
Truth is I feel as a Pokemon Fourms we should all donate to one person to buy a short pack or a long pack to open to see if there really is NR cards in it. I would donate to it.

Short top packs are confirmed to not have no rarity cards. I believe @ozenigma posted a screenshot of someone who had opened these short top packs and stated they didn’t have no rarity cards.
This pack is @darkrai’s. Not sure why he’s advertising it to possibly contain no rarity cards when it’s confirmed that they don’t.
Did someone say pack opened Blastoise?
