Japanese boosters collection. Only miss one to be happy !

World Champions Pack is a main set released in Japan specifically for tournament players to not be at a disadvantage. At the time sets like EX Emerald featured cards which had not been released in Japanese, so the World Champions Pack fixed that by introducing those. They aren’t tribute decks like the World Championships decks are.

It’s one of the rarest Japanese sets out there as the 1st Edition version was only available to players with a high enough league score and the even rarer unlimited version - to my knowledge - was only available to purchase directly at Spring Battle Road 2008. It’s difficult to justify just how rare the unlimited version is - the unlimited WCP Pichu was the last card I needed to have all officially-released Japanese Pichu cards and I only picked up my first copy in February this year.

Wow, TIL. I’ve come across these before on Y!J and didn’t think anything of it. Thank you for the detailed response. Also congrats on the Pichu purchase, that’s awesome

It’s a bit difficult to tell from the photo, but it looks like among the first six packs, all but Jungle are the older 291 yen version (the Jungle is a 300 yen pack).

If the variations interest you, the good news is that It’s not too difficult to find 291 yen Fossil packs (or 300 yen packs of the others)

Finding the “short” versions of the Base and Jungle packs, however, will probably be more difficult.

Japanese packart is awesome, english looks boring compared to them. Crazy cool Collection you have there

Hello,

Yes I only miss the Jungle 291 yen booster pack to have all the old variations. This is not my current priority (unlimited WCP is) but I will certainly buy it later

I had the opportunity back in 2016 to buy short base set for like €500 but did not buy it as I considered it was way too much money (I just began to work) but now I regret it…

That’s an awesome collection ! I am trying to do the same thing as well but only collecting what I can afford for now - the adv/dp era packs look really cool as well

Wait, is the order on bulbapedia not correct? I’m gonna have to do a lot of reorganizing for my binder sets lol.

Bulbapedia is in the correct order. I’m pretty sure @gaano ordered the packs by their English EX era release order instead of Japanese PCG era release order, in which case the Clash of the Blue Sky (EX Deoxys) & Rocket Gang Strikes Back (EX Team Rocket Returns), as well as Mirage Forest (EX Legend Maker) & Holon Research Tower (EX Delta Species) would indeed be swapped.

Greetz,
