Is this PSA 9?

Recently I decided to buy 3 cards (base set charizard, chansey, and clefairy) since these were cards I never had as a kid. I bought all PSA9. The clefairy card seems fine but I noticed two imperfections with the chansey card. Would these be allowed for PSA9?

If you need a better picture let me know and I will see if I can take a better one.

Absolutely. That’s not at all atypical. Plenty of 9s have much worse chipping than that.

Yes if that’s all that’s wrong with the card, it’s well within the range of PSA 9.

If those two imperfections weren’t there, the card would be a PSA10. Yes?

Thanks for the quick response @newcollector, @crow. I’ve never bought PSA graded cards before. The clefairy didn’t have any chipping.

Yes its a 9!

The Clefairy might have some other defects that are hard to see through the casing, such as light surface issues. Or it could be a harsher grader. Usually there’s something there that caused it to get the grade it did, but there definitely is a range even within each grade. One 9 can be stronger than another sometimes. I’ve seen people on this forum say to “buy the card, not the grade”. I’ve tried to follow that advice and it’s served me well so far
