hey just to update here - I received the card back from CGC. They did ruled it “Altered Card” and did not grade it
Wicked unfortunate to hear. Altered Card means that it’s been tampered in some way despite being a genuine card. I wonder if the damage was too extensive for them to properly grade it? I feel like damage is more well known in English cards but I would have thought this received a CGC 1 grade at the very least.

The energies on the fake look a little flat to me as well. Man, it’s sort of a convincing fake though. Kinda scary.
A pic of the back would be useful. If you check the edge of the card you’ll see a thin black strip between the two white layers of the card if it’s a genuine card. If it’s not there it’s a fake for sure. Have a look at your definitely real cards to know what you’re looking for with the black strip.

yeah its really scary and they are selling a range of sought after cards. we really need to be aware of this.

im residing here in japan and theres a lot of people selling fakes. i dont kniw who they are but theres a lot posting fake pokemons.

Very fake unfortunately. The saturation is off, there is a rainbow look to the holofoil that a lot of fake cards have right now. Be very careful shopping if that card is convincing to you.
the photos he used is the card looks real that i didnt notice the series symbol at all. thats why when i receive the card i immediately suspect that the card is fake.
Was it in person or online? And can you link his photos?
