International Postal Service Information - Delays & COVID

I was checking the status of the Japan-to-UK postal delays on the Royal Mail website today as I’m still waiting on numerous orders from the end of May, and thought I would share the 3 websites I use to keep up-to-date with this info. I’ve no doubt this will be common knowledge to some, but in case it’s useful:

Hmm, I’ve had no issues having items delivered from Japan to the UK since March. Which service did you use that you’re still waiting since May? Japan Post will hand over to Royal Mail as soon as the package gets to the sorting office in Coventry.

@pichufan calmtrading-jp on eBay. Seems to send everything, regardless of value, via international economy delivery. Since been in touch and they have refunded my orders. I think it’s safe to say my orders are lost after 3 months, hah. If they turn up I’ll send them their money back.

Hopefully they show up. Sometimes my untracked orders from US to US still seem to get lost. There is also plenty of crazy stories like the one I’m attaching a link to. So I guess the post office workers sometimes feel overwhelmed and do stuff like open a storage unit or fill a field with people’s mail. It’s crazy and im sure it’s not terribly common but I’ve read at least 6 plus stories like this. @mcorey777 Wow people can get really creative when they’re under pressure, seriously sounds like more effort doing what they did instead of actually getting them posted. Or, you know, just explaining to their boss that there physically aren’t enough hours in the day to keep up with demand, and ask for an alternative approach. That might have worked too. Always suspect mail fraud with situations like that, but the fact these people are literally keeping the mail sealed as-is for that length of time suggests they are simply just scared of losing their jobs.

Yeah I would not use national couriers for the time being, too many lost packages and delays
