Of course. If I made less money I’d also spend less money on Pokemon.

A few years ago I would have said yes, but i don’t think so anymore. Life is incredibly short and I’d rather use the money to fund making cherished memories with my loved ones.

Instead of spending more, I would work less.

Not really. I’d probably put more income toward the real dream, buying a house.

Absolutely. I already allocate money towards life expenses, retirement accounts, and separate things I am funding (vacations, for example). Anything extra goes into Pokemon, so if that amount increased I very likely would increase Pokemon spending.

Depends where the money was coming from.

In the last year i have been selling cards i pulled from boosters during 2015-2020 (the $5 cards that went to $50-$100) The money from that has gone straight back into buying more cards, Cards that i usually wouldn’t of been able to afford. So in that case Yes, i already have spent more on Pokemon than i would of without that extra money.

However, if the money comes from elsewhere, such as a new job offer or a wage increase, then the answer would be no. I keep the two separate. More money from work or other means would mean more money for my family, not for Pokemon.

Hmmm, let me think,… nuh

I’d probably spend more on cards but in a smarter way, if that makes sense. I’d be able to buy more duplicates, I could grade more, I could sell more, and I could save more money to buy the actual grails I’m after like an Art Academy.

Obviously I think (mostly) we all have priorities. For instance, this year I am planning on using money from sales to buy a new car. But that also means I need to pay PSA and CGC to grade the 300+ cards I have in my grade pile (110 of which at PSA are currently in QA).

Would likely regress and lose focus. Buy more just because I could and become a toddler with money and cards again. Then realize I didn’t want 90% of what was bought buying product. This is all assuming I’m making mega bucks with the question because not much would change with a 2-3% raise.

Yes because I have zero self control and keep spending all my pocket money on Pokémon already.

So I’m pretty sure I’d just spend more if I had more.

I already spend well within my means, especially considering we are saving for a wedding. If I made another $20k or so I’d definitely say I’d allocate half of that toward retirement and half towards the cards I haven’t been able to swing while saving for the wedding the last 2 years. I deserve it

Yes but not 100% of whatever the increase is

I would! After other more important things are covered first

Why not both?

Because the question was more money, not infinite money. I’m not made of cash and I live in California too.

No, but yes, but no.

There are so many other things that have priority over Pokémon that need to be secured first. Bills, food, savings, investments, hobbies.

When I would earn double what I earn now, I probably would increase the Pokémon budget but I won’t magically go out and buy a Snap Bulbasaur for $70k because I can.
