I have some unopened booster packs that I intend to store for the long term. Currently, I have them in Ultra Pro Semi Rigid submission holders. The sleeves feel kind of rubbery, and I am worried that this material may dry rot and damage the booster packs overtime. Does anyone have experience on how these sleeves behave as they age? Do you have a better method of preserving booster packs?
Ultra Pro Tarot Sized Sleeves are awesome for storing packs. Another option that’s popular for long term storage is team bags with a top loader behind the pack for rigidness. Both good options. I personally use the tarot sleeves. I do not recommend any sort of storage that puts pressure on the packs like a semi rigid.
As @thecardguyz, mentioned, currently the best option for pack storage is a card saver/semi rigid on the back of the pack, then sealed in a team bag. I store all of my packs this way until PSA creates a case option for modern packs.
I have them in team bags as well, so I will go ahead and just take them out of the semi Rigids and put them in front of them. Thanks for the help
You said “over time” and “as they age”. At least I can speak for 15 years or so. Short term, putting packs into card savers then into sleeves is fine. If you keep them that way too long though, an outline of the cards can show through the foil pack that may make the outline stay.
